SciFi.com meldet... Chris Evans (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) told SCI FI Wire that he recently completed work on the upcoming animated SF film Terra.
The story follows Mala (Evan Rachel Wood), an alien girl whose father (Dennis Quaid) is abducted by another alien race, setting the stage for an all-out war. Evans and Luke Wilson play pilot brothers caught in the middle of the battling factions.
"It's actually more of a mature film," Evans said in an interview while promoting Rise of the Silver Surfer. "I think it's got to be PG-13. There's some graphic stuff in there."
Evans added: "It's about human beings in the future having essentially used up a lot of natural resources on Earth and moving to another planet where there are these creatures that are inhabiting it, but they don't breathe oxygen. So we're going to overtake their planet by converting the atmosphere to oxygen, in the process killing them all."
Evans' character is the younger brother of Wilson's. "We're both fighter pilots for the human army, and we both kind of get an attack of good conscience and do the right thing," Evans said. The film's cast also includes Amanda Peet, Ron Perlman, Rosanna Arquette, Danny Glover, Brian Cox, Danny Trejo, Justin Long and James Garner. Terra will be released in 2008.
