[09.03.2012] STYD meldet...
[...] If you thought Dimension Films was really going to have Halloween 3D in theaters October 26th, as the company stated last year, you have another thing coming.
The 3D Michael Myers outing - as we suspected a few weeks ago - has been pushed back. The film has adopted the dreaded "release date to be determined" status.
At one time, Dimension's Bob Weinstein was working with Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer to bring Halloween 3D to fruition. The duo behind Drive Angry 3D penned a script, but it was ultimately put on the back burner.
Insiders tell us Halloween 3D is a priority at the company and they're still fielding pitches. [...]

[30.06.2011] STYD meldet...
Lionsgate is releasing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on October 5, 2012.
The next chapter in the series will now join Dimension Films' Halloween 3D which opens a few weeks later on October 26. [...]

[20.06.2011] STYD meldet...
Dimension Films has announced that fans of Michael Myers should put a big red circle around October 26, 2012 on their calendars.
That's when the company is expected to release Halloween 3D.
Of course, at this time, we have no clue who is directing or which script they are going with. Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer penned a draft which picks up after the events of Rob Zombie's Halloween II. The story concerns Laurie Strode in a mental hospital and there's a part for Tom Atkins to co-star.
Lussier and Farmer, however, are neck-deep in the Hellraiser redo script.
Are the Weinstein brothers pulling the duo off that project to get Halloween 3D rolling?

[...] The script, penned by Todd Farmer, was turned in on Friday, however, Bob Weinstein of Dimension Films feels the production is being rushed. Directed Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D), who signed on to the film recently, had to begin by November so he could start Drive Angry, with Nicolas Cage, early next year.
So, Dimension Films is going to wait until Lussier is "free" so they can take their time. [...]

[19.09.2009] B-D meldet...
[...] Patrick Lussier has officially signed the dotted line to direct HALLOWEEN 3D for Dimension Films. He'll be heading to Haddonfield with Todd Farmer, who will be penning the screenplay. The duo previously worked together on MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D for Lionsgate, making them perfect candidates to bring Michael Myers to theaters in 3D. Shooting is scheduled for this fall. [...]

[08.09.2009] Variety.com meldet...
Bob Weinstein is hoping to add a whole new dimension to genre label Dimension Films with artier fare such as Cormac McCarthy adaptation "The Road," while staying true to the company's core audience with a new version of Stephen King's "The Children of the Corn" and the third part of its revamped "Halloween" franchise in 3-D. [...]
Weinstein is also in negotiations with Patrick Lussier ("My Bloody Valentine") to write and direct a third "Halloween" franchise in 3-D. Weinstein is hoping to release the pic next summer. [...]

[01.09.2009] In einem L.A. Times Blog steht zu lesen...
"Halloween II" may not have won the box office this weekend, but Weinstein Co. is taking a lesson from the movie that did as it prepares a sequel for next summer.
The independent studio's co-Chairman Bob Weinstein said today that the 3-D sequel, titled, appropriately enough, "Halloween 3D," is in development. The investment it takes to shoot movies in digital 3-D has proved particularly lucrative for horror films. For "The Final Destination," this weekend's No. 1 movie, theaters with at least one 3-D screen earned 3.25 times as much as those that showed the movie in 2-D only, according to distributor Warner Bros. [...]
Weinstein said Rob Zombie, who directed "Halloween II" and 2007's reboot of the 31-year-old horror series, won't return for "Halloween 3-D." He said the studio is in negotiations with a new director, whom he declined to name, who has experience in horror and has a "different take" on the franchise.

[31.08.2009] Bei CS! berichtet über die US-Einspielergebnisse...
[...] it grossed $17.4 million in just over 3,000 theaters or roughly $5,700 per venue, settling for third place. The previous movie opened with $31 million over the four-day Labor Day weekend two years ago then went on to gross $58 million, an amount that might be difficult to match for its sequel [...]

[29.08.2009] IESB sprach mit Malcolm McDowell über "Halloween 2"...

[28.08.2009] Quint von AICN hat Rob Zombies Sequel gesehen und schreibt...
[...] I don’t consider this sequel worse than the original, but I can’t say it’s much better. It’s a little more fun because of the random insanity peppered throughout, but that’s essentially me just saying the shittiness in this movie was more fun than the shittiness in the original.
I didn’t have the vocal displeasure that the rest of the audience had as the credits rolled, a myriad of "I want my money back," "that was retarded," "Boo," and others. Like I said earlier, it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen an audience turn on a movie like that. [...]

[21.04.2009] ET's First Look zu Rob Zombies' "H2" ist online... Und MTV.com besuchte die Dreharbeiten...
[...] One look is all it takes to know it's a Rob Zombie film. The director says he felt somewhat stymied the first go-round, because it was a shared vision with Carpenter. For the sequel, it's entirely him, and he bathes in the freedom that allows.
"This one is 100 percent mine," Zombie says. "Every day, we laugh about how different it is. We don't even think about 'Halloween' anymore. We just do what we do."
With his first "Halloween," the filmmaker struggled to maintain the balance that audiences expected, but according to him, the shackles have been released for "H2."
"The first one, it was like a true remake, reimagining, whatever the hell people want to call it," Zombie says. "So you had to go through the beats of, 'How much do you keep? How much do you change? What do the fans expect? What don't they expect?' Because if it's too similar it's a waste of time, and if it's too different everyone's upset. But on this one, it's, 'Do whatever you want.' "
But Zombie isn't the only one who's unrestrained. Scout Taylor-Compton, who plays the female lead, also feels the newfound autonomy. Her character, Laurie Strode, ended the last film as a powerful heroine, and she picks up that mantle again for "H2," albeit with Laurie having slightly more baggage than her last time around.
"If you just watch the first one and just see all the stuff she has to go through, it was very traumatizing for her," Taylor-Compton says. "So in this one, she's just trying to find herself, and she's trying to find out answers, and just trying to get over everything. People kind of deal with things differently, and I think she just sort of rebels and doesn't know how to control it." [...]

[27.02.2009] Bei STYD gibt es ein erstes "H2"-Szenenbild...

[11.02.2009] Bei CS! gibt es ein Teaser-Poster zu "H2"... Und AICN zitiert Malcolm McDowell aka Loomis...
[...] Regarding "H2"; when the host of the event told McDowell he thought he did an amazing job of stepping into the role of Loomis and that he couldn't picture anyone else taking up the role besides him after the performance he gave in the first film, McDowell thanked him and told him "maybe you ought to tell that to the Weinsteins! We're in the middle of negotiating right now!" He then riffed on the notorious hard-bargaining of the Weinstein Brothers, "Those f*ckers!" He then chuckled and said he was, of course, kidding and said that Zombie, whom he called an "amazing director" (he said this twice during the event), wanted him back...even though McDowell himself thought Loomis must surely be dead...and that the Weinsteins are probably wishing Loomis WAS dead. The host prodded McDowell for plot details but McDowell insisted he had none to give, "I haven't read the script yet". He said all he knew was that the story supposedly takes place two months after the finale of the first film. He continued by saying Loomis won't be doing any chasing down of Myers, adding that pursuit will be left up to the "notorious Sheriff" and that Loomis' character "is in the middle of a book-tour."
