"Dragon's Lair 3D" Videospiel !!!
Ubisoft präsentiert das Videospiel "Dragon's Lair 3D - Return to the Lair" für den PC, für die XBox und für den GameCube...

[27.03.2007] CS! meldet...
High Definition gaming has arrived! Dragon's Lair continues to revolutionize the video-game industry by becoming the first game title ever to be released for the Blu-ray Disc High Definition format using BD-J.
An instant hit in its 1983 arcade debut, Dragon's Lair has now been digitally restored and enhanced with an all-new 5.1 surround sound mix. The video has been transferred directly from the original film and cleaned frame by frame by Digital Leisure and authoring studio Infinite HD, creating a truly vibrant image. In addition, Dragon's Lair is the first release to be authored in the Blu-ray Java environment, or BD-J, an advanced format that allows users to enjoy a fully arcade-authentic experience.
"I've seen the newly restored footage and it just looks amazing" says Don Bluth, original creator of Dragon's Lair. "It looks even better than I can remember. The visuals, the 5.1 surround sound audio, all I can say is 'Wow!' Now a whole new generation can enjoy 'Dragon's Lair' all over again."
All the special features on the disc are in full 1080p HD, including brand-new interviews with creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and Rick Dyer, and even a full-length visual commentary of the game.
Digital Leisure plans to follow up Dragon's Lair Blu-ray with the release of Space Ace and Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp in the Blu-ray format.
Dragon's Lair Blu-ray will be available April 9th at software and movie retailers as well as online at DigitalLeisure.com.

[17.06.2006] Wie DemoNews.de meldet, veröffentlicht Digital Leisure das Videospiel "Dragon's Lair HD" für PC DVD-ROM ..

[10.06.2006] Don Bluth zum Stand der Dinge...
[...] We're not giving up on 2D. Dragon's Lair: The Movie is planned as a hand-drawn animated feature film. We have only a couple of the stories in development that are destined for CG. American Tail and NIMH were fun to work on and the crew felt like they were rediscovering the techniques of the golden age of animation. We are not disclosing the titles of the 6 projects in development, with the exception of the first two, Fenwick: A Christmas Story and Dragon's Lair: The Movie. Dragon's Lair is still not funded. It has a completed script which we like. [...]

[25.09.2003] Don Bluth zum Stand der Dinge...
[...] We have a current budget for a traditional animated approach with CG backgrounds and props at just under $30 Million. The script and presentation is with a couple of distributors at this time. Keep your fingers crossed. [...]

[23.01.2003] Don Bluth antwortet auf Fragen nach dem Film...
[...] Of course Dirk talks. He talks all the way through the script. It's near the end of the story that he loses he ability to speak (and that's still up for discussion). We have interest from a major actor to do the voice of Dirk, which we cannot divulge at this time. But, we approached him because we think his voice is a perfect fit. Thanks for the recommendations. By the way have you seen any of the storyboards for the opening sequences that were illustrated in Don Bluth's ToonTalk Magazines? [...]

[15.06.2002] CountingDown meldet...
On his website, Don Bluth explains the trials of finding a distributor for Dragon's Lair and also tells us that the script is complete.
We exposed the opening and some storysketch continuity in the Don Bluth's ToonTalk magazine. We do not have distribution at this time. Most of our films did not have distribution until we were about 10 months to a year into production, i.e. The Secret of NIMH(1982) and All Dogs Go to Heaven(1989). We want this to be a theatrical release. We are in discussions with the major studios for distribution. We've had some 'passes' but, some are still in the running. Even if we are passed-over by everyone, it ain't really over...remember that Star Wars (1976) was turned down by everyone in Hollywood and even near completion, 20th Century Fox was still in doubt. We are very passionate about getting Dragon's Lair to the big screen. The challenge is, that the studios do not really know the game industry, other than it makes more money than the film industry--well, maybe they don't know that information. The world-wide fan base for the Dragon's Lair title is huge and we believe we have a built-in audience."

[14.02.2002] Don Bluth über den Film...
We believe that "Dragon's Lair, the Movie", will appeal to the entire audience, 6 to 60. However, it may be a film that falls in a PG to PG-13 rating. It is an action/comedy with quite a bit of adult humor. Wait till you find out where Dirk got his helmut.

[23.10.2001] Bei "SciFi.com" gibt es ein Interview mit Don Bluth und Gary Goldman, die sich über "Dragon's Lair" auslassen...
[...] We're going to try to introduce many things that people saw in the game, but the story is going to be the key ingredient. The title will be really attractive to the audience, but the key is whether our story captures their imagination. Don's been working very hard during the last six weeks to reintroduce things to that film that they remember from the game. [...]
