[25.11.2004] Moviehole meldet...
[...] Director Steve Rash has seen to cast his "American Pie 4" with lovely ladies just as pipin' hot as the lasses in the predecessors.
Arielle Kebbel has landed a starring role in "American Pie 4 : Band Camp", co-starring Laura Mayhew and Richard Keith.
Kebbel - last seen playing Tom Arnold's daughter in "Soul Plane" - will play one of the band members, an intense and determined youngster who is keen for acceptance into a snooty school.
Also joining the cast is actress/singer Kathleen LaGue ["Starsky and Hutch"] who is playing a fiesty receptionist, and local band The RCC Marching Tigers, who're - ah - playing band members.
Eugene Levy is said to be in talks to reprise his role as Jim's Dad. Why? I do not know - Jim's not even in this baby.

"All the original characters have moved on, except there will be a cameo by Finch. Stifler's little brother Matt, wants to join his brother's business (Stifler has hit it big producing Girls Gone Wild videos) and after everything Matt has heard from Jim's bandgeek wife Michelle, he plans to go back to band camp and make a video of his own.... Bandies Gone Wild." [...]

[10.08.2004] FilmJerk meldet...
[...] "American Pie 4" is on the fast track to production, with principal photography slated to begin this September under the guidance of director Steve Rash, best known as the helmer of the 1980s teen hit "Can't Buy Me Love." The script, from first time screenwriter Brad Riddell, does not appear to feature any of the major characters. This time around, the focus will be on Matt Stifler, younger brother of Steve Stifler, as Matt is sent to band camp for the summer when he faces expulsion from school. [...]

[29.12.2003] Moviehole meldet...
Sometimes studios can be sensible. Despite still making a lefty amount of bank at the box office, seems there’s no plans to follow "American Wedding" up with a fourth chapter in the "American Pie" series. Talking to Blockbuster Magazine, to promote the DVD release of the recent sequel, writer Adam Herz says there are no plans for a fourth adventure for Jim, Stifler, Michelle and company - just yet. "Not for a long time anyway. It might be an idea to check in 10 years from now and see what these guys are doing, but the things that have made the franchise enjoyable is watching these guys grow up. I think it would be unfair to the audience to do a movie where it would be just for the money : people will go - but it wouldn’t be a good story. There is nothing left to tell about them now".

[...] "Some very shocking things in the bachelor party scene were taken out because they could have been deemed offensive. It was obviously all about sexual content. I can tell you that these shocking things were very funny and I was a little sad to hear that they had to be cut," says Nikki Ziering who plays. ...yes, the stripper in the bachelor party scenes that were shot for over 10 days. "It was just about the best time of my entire life," says Thomas Ian Nicholas.
Also cut was a scene where Stifler (Seann William Scott) has sex with Jim's (Jason Biggs) grandmother. "We had this idea that the grandmother died after Stifler accidentally made love to her. She did die with a giant smile on her face. But, in retrospect, I don't know what I was thinking. That's pretty bad," says screenwriter Adam Herz. [...]

[11.07.2003] Bei AICN gibt es eine Kritik zu einer Rohfassung von "AP3"...
[...] The movie is how they get ready for the marriage ceremony. Oz and all of the other American Pie Girls are gone, and the guy who played "the kid in king arthurs court," is barely there. I think that they cut out his entire sub-plot.
There are some really funny scenes, but that is all there is, just things to laugh at. The story is so thread-bare that it seems almost episodic. They have just put one funny scene after another. In the other American Pie movies they all seem to learn a lesson at the end, here it is just tomfoolery, but, well, you know, I like tomfoolery. So, in essence, if you like the gang, and like to giggle at disgusting gags, go right for it.

Teil auslassen...
[...] Unlike the temperamental musical instrument, the boys said they have learned to never say never about the series. And though it's being marketed as the final installment in a trilogy, there's still the possibility of yet another slice of "Pie."
"I learned a valuable lesson in answering that question," said Biggs, "because after the first one I was always like, 'C'mon, part two? No, please.' And [then], after the second one, 'Well jeez, maybe I should leave the option open. Maybe there'll be a third one,' and sure enough, here we are."
"I don't know, man," Scott weighed in. "We've been saying this is the last one. It really completes the trilogy. If it does well, I'm sure the studio will go, 'Let's bring on a fourth one' - 'American Baby' or I don't know, man. [But] for me what was exciting [about 'Wedding'] is that it really completed the character. I'm pretty happy with it. I think this will be the last one." [...]

[21.04.2003] Anderson Jones schreibt in seiner Kolumne für E! Online ...
[...] Scott promises that Pie 3 finishes the franchise and that they go out with a bang. The second sequel loses most of the ensemble cast of kids, focusing instead on Jason Biggs' wedding to band-camp girl Alyson Hannigan, while introducing new sets of parents.
"The lamest scene in American Pie 3 is funnier than anything in the first two," says Scott, who just took in an unauthorized screening of a rough cut. "It's awesome. I really can't watch the first two, because this one is so good. It was a great way to end that franchise. There won't be American Baby or American Divorce." But really, it's all about Stifler. We finally get to see the twisted things that make him tick. "The movie fills in all the gaps." [...]

[09.04.2003] Bei Latino Review gibt es neue Szenenbilder aus "AP3"...

[08.04.2003] Cindy Pearlman schreibt in ihrer Kolumne...
Eugene Levy swears this summer's "American Pie" sequel delivers the best slice yet. "It's the best of the three 'Pie' movies and if they come up with a fourth script as good, I'll sign up in a minute," says Levy, who plays Jason Biggs' much put-upon father. [...]

[26.03.2003] Bei PieMovie3.com gibt es ein "American Wedding"-Logo und diverse Set-Berichte...

[07.02.2003] DH meldet...
'Jon Movie Man' worked on the third "American Pie" flick over the weekend and has this SPOILER-filled detailled report: "It was a three day shoot at a lovely greenhouse location, it was the wedding of Jim and Michelle. The wedding goes off without a hitch, they exchange vows, and kiss. Then we filmed the reception party and there was a lot of dancing, Jim and Michelle go out onto the dance floor for their first dance, it's a lovely dance sceene, then Jim motions for everyone to come out on the dance floor and join them, we all do, and there are many cuts to each of the charaters discussing the newlyweds. Paul Finch also gets up and leaves the wedding at this time because he has to go and break up another wedding in order to get the woman he loves (MILF ALEART!). Also, Stifler's mom was on the set in her wedding dress and we almost went blind staring at her, she is literally busting out of her dress at the chest area. WOW!".

[31.01.2003] Bei AICN gibt es ein positives Script-Review...

[23.01.2003] CS! sprach mit Alyson Hannigan über "AP3"...
[...] "It's hilarious," she said. "We're having so much fun. I've been [working] more on the movie now than the show, ['Buffy']."
In this wedding story, will Michelle be having a bachelorette party? "You know, she's not. No. But you'll see why."
In the third film, Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle are getting married - in a hurry. Jim's grandmother is sick and wants to see Jim walk down the aisle, so they're going for it in two frantic weeks. Stifler plans to be there (bridesmaids!), and more importantly to throw the ultimate bachelor party (strippers!). Finch (Thomas Ian Nicholas) is all for the hedonistic rituals, but not for letting Stifler steal the maid of honor, who happens to be Michelle's sexy younger sister, Cadence (January Jones). While everybody else sweats and frets, Jim's Dad (Eugene Levy) is cool as ever, dispensing advice that no one wants to hear and getting ready for one of the best days of his life.

[22.01.2003] CS! sprach mit dem Produzenten Craig Perry über "AP3"...
[...] It's really early on but it's been so much fun to see all the actors get back together and sort of interact," Perry said. "It's like a reunion every time we do it. They're just so great. And they're so aware of the characters. So, as soon as the camera starts rolling it's right back where the charm needs to be. It's been fun to watch."
Of course, not everyone is back this time. As Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) prepare to get married, only some of their friends appear in part three. "All I can say is it was literally a creative decision. Because we are now sort of flash forwarding a little bit from the time from the last movie, and how many of us are really tight, great friends with the girlfriend you had senior year in high school or boyfriend or vice-versa? There's a natural evolution that everybody goes through and to make it so that sort of coterie of people are the same people, again, makes it dramatically dead and it's not believable. No one would believe that. And I think that in many ways part II struggled and sweated mightily as it was going to try and justify a lot of the sort of machinations of the relationships. So we just decided to sort of be cognizant of that and allow the thing to evolve as what we felt would be the right thing to do." [...]

[23.11.2002] CS! meldet...
January Jones (Bandits, The Glass House has nabbed a role in American Wedding, the third installment of Universal Pictures' successful "American Pie" franchise. [22.11.2002] DH meldet...
'Mick Dundee' has a report on one sequence we can expect to see in the third "American Pie" flick:
"Today a guest actor came to speak to us a our Uni class at Screen Gems..his name was Nick Searcy. He was just coming off working on the new Bernie Mac/Chris Rock movie - "Head of State", about Chris Rock becoming president of the USA and he is about to start work on the 'mega production' (as he calls it) , which is "The Runaway Jury". Okay, he had a cool story to tell about "American Pie 3", and by all counts, thats the title they are still using. He was sent the script and was given a scene that involved this:
'The boys (refering to Stifller, Jim, finch and kevin) walk into a gay bar and come up to a guy called 'bear', the character Searcy was offered. He said it called for the boys to take a look at Bears very hairy chest...and to ask why he dosn't just shave it..and he says he dosn't have to because (then he turns around to flash them), as his arse is in such good shape... and it called for him to wear those type of trousers with the holes for the buttocks to show through...
So Searcy says he does the screen test and they send it to the stuido and it comes back that he is playing the scene too much and it's offending to gay people.. well, he says' I can't play gay any differently, when my arse is sticking out of my pants'..it was funny..everyone in the class were chocking on laughter.. so i presume the scene is still in the movie.. and I think this ties into the whole wedding concept.. I guess it's one of their bucks night... and they must walk into the wrong bar."

[10.10.2002] AICN meldet...
Alyson Hannigan was on Carson Daily this morning and she is, indeed, in the film. The movie is tentatively titled, "American Wedding," and filming begins in January 2003, for a summer 2003 release. Hannigan says she's as excited about this one as she was over the first. She says the script is wonderful, and that she was never contractually obliged to do an "American" sequel, but she took the second and third because she thought they were both excellent screenplays (I'm sure her paycheck wasn't bad, either). It was also heavily hinted at by both Carson and Alyson that the wedding in "American Wedding" is between Jim (Jason Biggs, who is returning) and Alyson's flute playing sex-freak with the heart of gold, Michelle. Seann William Scott is coming back as Stifler - I'm guessing he'll be the best man at the wedding - and Eugene Levy will return as Jim's dad. From the sounds of it, no other original cast member will return. This smells of a tamed down PG-13 summer romantic comedy, to me. [...]

[08.08.2002] CS! meldet...
Universal Pictures has put together the pieces of American Pie 3, according to Variety. Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan and Eugene Levy have signed to reprise their roles. They join Seann William Scott, who came on board earlier this week to reprise his role as Stifler. Jesse Dylan (How High) is negotiating to direct the script by Adam Herz.
The second sequel has been in the hatching stages for some time, but the dealmaking was complex. None of the players had sequel options that ran beyond American Pie 2, and all parties sought an extra large piece of the pie, adds the trade.
The project will begin filming in January for an August 2003 release.

[06.08.2002] Die NZ meldet...

Hugh Grant looks set to star in "American Pie 3". Chris and Paul Weitz, who directed Grant in "About a Boy" have asked Grant to star in "American Pie 3", which will be their next picture. Grant's unlikely to be shagging Pie's for this one though saying "'Nobody wants to have sex with a shepherd's pie" (Divine Brown's not much worse Hugh). The third film, will also reunite also the major male members from the first two films, but the plan is to keep the girl's out of the picture this time. [...]

[24.05.2002] Bei Cinema Confidential gibt es erste Infos zum "American Pie 3"-Drehbuch...
[...] the first draft of the script was placed into the hands of Universal execs, and that it has the sex-driven gang from Great Falls High reuniting, as the script is decorated with wedding bells and bachelor parties, dealing with the next logical progression of any relationship - marriage.
You want more? The only other thing we can reveal is that ALL of the female characters have been WRITTEN OUT of the first draft of the script. So without Shannon Elizabeth or Tara Reid flashing their goods, you gotta wonder what's in store for the guys this time around...
